THE BEST MUSIC ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME??
If you can move an audience at the age of five with an electrifying performance and magical dance moves you are definitely talented. 750 million albums from a music career is undeniably a stunning accomplishment. He won more awards that anyone could ever imagine. With all that he has achieved throughout his entire music career and the legacy that he left behind, is it fair to say Michael Jackson is the greatest music entertainer of all time?
Many have agreed that Michael Jackson was a thrill maker and that he was indeed the best musician that ever lived. Michael Jackson as many would agree has left an indelible mark on the music industry. Michael is recognized as the king of Pop Music. This Honor came about mainly because he was an innovative artist, an artist that displayed genuine talent in every aspect of his music career.
“I think Michael is the best entertainer ever, he was passionate and created art, art that cannot be reproduced,” said Kara Vasquez, General Manager of McDonald’s in Dundee, Winter Haven. When he performed it literally touched so many people, not only did you hear his music it is felt,” Vasquez added.
Other may favor a specific Genre of music and might have an alternative opinion. It is accepted by many that Michael Jackson sold out to audiences all over the world; He won hundreds of awards during his career and made history with his album sales worldwide. Why is this still not enough to prove that he was the best music entertainer?
Vernon Kay, Employee of GC services is of the opinion that Michael was a good entertainer, but he was by no means the best. “What about the others who came before him?” Kay stated. “Personally I don’t think you can ever be better than the ones who paved the way for you or who even who came before you, James Brown was way better than Michael Jackson,” Kay added.
At the height of his career Michael Jackson was undoubtedly the greatest star in the world. Even though his Musical Journey was haunted and accompanied by several speculations that surfaced occasionally in the media. Should we therefore allow that small mindset to take away from what a great artist has already given us? Many still proved their love for the entertainer by supporting his career and continued to remain loyal fans.
They definitely tried to tarnish Michael’s career. If you are a true fan that should not change your opinion about the Genius behind the microphone,” Stated Amoy Miller, past student of The University of the West Indies, Jamaica. Miller further stated that Jackson was legend and a musical icon that was recognized by the world at large and was unquestionably talented in many ways.
Many have seen his performances, watch his music videos and listened to his music and have drawn a conclusion that he is indeed the best performer that ever lived. Michael Jackson is recognized as the quintessential all round performer, who approached the art of music and perfected it. Others however do not share the same opinion because of other preferences. Has Michael Joseph Jackson done enough to earn the title as the King of Pop music, or better yet is it fair to say that Michael Jackson is the best music entertainer of all time?
IS IT BAD, OR IS IT JUST A REFLECTION OF SOCIETY???
Let’s say you happen to receive several DVD’s as a Christmas gift and as begin to watch the DVD’s or while reading the Blurb, they begin to inflict a “bad vibe” on you, so to speak. Many would conclude that DVD’s like these promote bad social values. Seems like a meaningless conclusion right?
Let’s flip the script a little, and replace the DVD’s with rap music, listening to Rap music has allegedly caused similar feelings to be imposed upon many of its listeners. Is Rap music a bad influence on society or is it merely a reflection of what the society’s true definition is?
Many have also concluded that rap music displays unhealthy amounts of bad social values, but is this really true Does Rap music really promote violence and sex to the masses or does it simply reflect what sells? It is sad to point out that we live in a society that demands anything that is associated with sexual and violent meanings and in reality if we demand these sexual messages they will always be thrown at us.
“If rap music only teaches society about sex, violence and money it is not good,” stated Rosa Rockman, Manager at Raysway Inc. Rockman also stated that If Rap music is influential enough to diminish the behavior of our impressionable minds it is definitely a danger to society.
Some might also argue that it is unfair for any individual to conclude that One specific genre of music is improper or dangerous because they just don’t like it, or because they think it has affected somebody else.
Joselynn Kelly a student of Polk state College mentioned that half the people who are of the opinion that a specific genre of music is terrible for society don’t actually listen to these kinds of music; they just join others who believe the same thing.
“Why do people constantly blame Rap music, as if it is the main cause for a dysfunctional society”, Kelly stated, “Rap music is not to be blamed, why do we forget to blame our upbringing and the constant lack of family involvement and socialization?” Kelly added.
Many also believe that many of the listeners of Rap music are actually not influenced by its lyrics and in turn do not commit violent and sexual acts. A solid upbringing is inevitable and some are also of the opinion that if parents try to shelter their children from what they considered as being “evil” this will definitely intensify their curiosity and try their best to figure out what is really behind this “evil”
“I wish people would stop blaming the media for their actions, we all know wrong from right wrong”, stated Amoy Miller, past student of the University of the west Indies, “I listen to Rap music and I have never killed anyone or dealt with drugs, I really think that as a society we are losing focus, or refuse to pay attention the psychological issues behind all of our problems.” Miller further added.
If we study the true meaning behind any genre of music we will draw an obvious conclusion that, Many of these entertainers and singers are not intentionally trying to impose a negative influence on society and its members, but rather to demonstrate the lifestyles that they live or grew up in.
“I mean, everybody has a different opinion on everything, so there is no one answer to many of the controversial issues that affect our society,” Miller added.
So rap music as a genre does not necessarily promote violence, drugs and sex, many agree that it is just a reflection of society and people tend to look past the entertainment aspect of any genre of music. A lot of people will still have varied opinion on the subject at hand.
CAN THE MUSIC YOU LISTEN TO CAUSE YOUR PERSONALITY TO CHANGE???
